UE Grants

Cofinanced by EU

SMR POLSKA SPÓŁKA Z OGRANICZONĄ ODPOWIEDZIALNOŚCIĄ implements the project: “Recycling of photovoltaic panels” co-financed by the European Union under PRIORITY I OF THE PROGRAMME EUROPEAN FUNDS FOR MODERN ECONOMY 2021-2027 (FENG)

The project will be implemented in two modules:

– R&D module, consisting of four stages:

  1. Development of mobile technology for recycling photovoltaic panels
  2. Development of a complete industrial installation for recycling and recovery of secondary raw materials from photovoltaic panels
  3. Production tests of the mobile installation at the customer’s premises
  4. Production tests of the complete installation on the premises of SMR Polska

– Innovation implementation module – implementation of aluminum sorting technology using X-ray and infrared detectors

Target groups:

– for the R&D module – companies purchasing used panels photovoltaic panels, companies installing panels and private owners of photovoltaic installations,

– for the Innovation Implementation module – aluminium smelters that process aluminium scrap.

The aim of the project is to develop a innovative process and activities related to the implementation of a innovative product in the Beneficiary’s product portfolio.

The planned research and development works are aimed at developing a technology that will enable the recovery of glass from photovoltaic panels at a level of 90%. The developed method involves delamination, which will allow for the separation of clean glass and its almost complete recovery.

As part of the implementation module, the results of R&D works independently performed by the Beneficiary, regarding the sorting of aluminium using X-ray detectors and an infrared camera, will be implemented.
